Still from VESSEL by Carlos Key
The Northwest Film Center’s Fresh Film Northwest program is excited to announce the first ever Fresh Fear! Fresh Fear takes the very best (and most frightening) films submitted to the Fresh Film Northwest Festival over many years and compiles them together in one hour long program. We have found ten films that we think embody the ingenuity and youthfulness of Fresh Film while also showcase the versatility and talent present in the horror genre.
Fresh Film Northwest is an annual festival celebrating films made by teenagers and for teenagers. The festival is a juried survey of work by up-and-coming teen filmmakers living in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Now in its 43rd year, the Festival recognizes individual talent, showcases model examples of how film arts can be taught in schools, and engages all of us in helping to build the Northwest regional youth media community of 13- to 19-year-olds.
Fresh Fear will be held at 2:00 pm at the Whitsell Auditorium inside the Portland Art Museum on Saturday June 9th, 2018 with special guest host Queer Horror’s Carla Rossi. The event is free and open to the public. Please come down to support your local youth filmmakers and see some terrifying summer fun!
