The Hollywood Theatre’s bimonthly series Queer Horror comes back from the beyond – just like our favorite killer dolls – with SEED OF CHUCKY! Sponsored by Finger Bang nail salon, this romantic engagement continues Queer Horror’s annual Valentine’s Day + Jennifer Tilly tradition, all hosted by Portland’s premier drag clown Carla Rossi!
Written and directed by series creator and out queer filmmaker Don Mancini, 2005’s SEED OF CHUCKY drops Chucky (Brad Dourif) and Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) in Hollywood on the set of film-within-a-film “Chucky Goes Psycho,” starring Oscar nominee Jennifer Tilly herself! But this time the killer couple finds themselves raising their non-binary child Glen – or Glenda? – (Billy Boyd) and plotting to take over Jennifer Tilly and Redman’s bodies in order to establish a nuclear family all their own. Also starring the High Pope of Trash John Waters, SEED OF CHUCKY plays like KRAMER VS. KRAMER with a family of murderous dolls, and firmly establishes the CHILD’S PLAY franchise as the absolute queerest, funniest, and most risk-taking and genre-bending slasher series of all time!

ABOUT QUEER HORROR:
QUEER HORROR is a bimonthly festival of genre works by queer artists, performers, and filmmakers questioning horror’s relation to queerness and what it means to identify with the monster. Maybe it’s the fact that queer people are so often relegated to shadows of otherness that the horror genre is more immediately relatable for us. We grew up with boogeymen. We’ve lived with boogeymen. Goblins and ghosts are a welcome escape from real-life monstrosities.
From the work of James Whale and John Waters to Patricia Highsmith and Clive Barker, horror has deeply impacted queer culture and sensibilities and QUEER HORROR asks why. QUEER HORROR is programmed and hosted by Portland’s premier drag clown Carla Rossi and her human avatar Anthony Hudson, with artwork by resident artist Jason Edward Davis.
